Hi! I’m Arden and I want to announce my next project!
Date or Die is a visual novel about love, mainstream media, and not fitting into the perfect image of what the latter considers the former to be. It’s a project I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into, and I’m really, really excited to be able to finally talk about it!
Ten strangers wake up trapped in an outrageously large mansion - there are no exits and they can’t even remember their own names. A mysterious man, referring to himself only as the Host, tells them all they’ve been chosen to compete on a reality TV-style dating game show called Date or Die, a twisted competition where being eliminated means death! The Host promises that the contestant who can best all the show’s challenges will not only get out alive, but will be introduced to their soulmate.
You play as a young woman who the Host mockingly nicknames “Hero” - can she outwit him and convince the other trapped, scared contestants to band together and escape, or will Hero play right into the Host’s hands and battle to the death in the name of love? It all depends on your choices!
Date or Die features a diverse, engaging cast of characters for the player to get to know and love, and then rips them away from you because I want to drink your tears! It’s been very much inspired by TV shows like Flavor of Love and The Bachelor and games like Danganronpa and the Zero Escape series.
My team is wonderful - my good friends Fin and Julian are providing beautiful art and one of my closest friends, Ryan, is coding for me. It’s being built in Ren’Py, and it will release in 2015! Oh my god! I’m so excited!
