June 6, 2014 Eimear Fallon

Over the last couple of days, I finally watched Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the second and third Star Wars episodes in the much-derided trilogy. I have next to no interest in actually reviewing either of them, save to say that the plot and dialogue are insufferably dull, but the thing that struck me (with both) is how richly artistic both films are - there are visual elements to these films that are stunning, and often relegated to the background by the wooden acting on display.

Ryan Church was a concept design supervisor on both these episodes - above are a couple of locations from Episode III. There’s a breathtaking depth of imagination to his work, and he’s put a lot of it online - you can check it out here.
