So: the 59th Annual Eurovision Song Contest is almost upon us, and as per tradition I’ll be liveblogging it with Casey - or, more appropriately, we’ll be chatting about it in public while welcoming the interruption and involvement of you, yes, you.
If you’re unaware of Eurovision (and if you are, really, where have you been), it’s an annual contest between a couple of dozen European countries where the public votes in and the songs range from weepy piano ballads to bombastic Germanic anthems. Oh, and dubstep. There’s always someone who tries to rescuscitate the shuddering husk that is dubstep.
We’ll be watching along live next Saturday at 2:30pm EST/7:30pm BST, and if you want to join in on the fun, head here to set yourself a reminder, or just bookmark that link for later. Don’t worry - if you’re unsure how to get Eurovision from where you are, we’ll provide streaming links and everything you could possibly need. You just need to bring your body, your winning smile, and an offering to the Gods of Nonsense Lyrics.
