Watched: Frost/Nixon
- Watched this when it first came out, but it hasn’t lost any of its power.
- It’s astonishing how close the final interview is to the real interviews; both Frank Langella and Michael Sheen disappear into the roles. People already credit Sheen with that, but Langella deserves just as much praise.
- I’m glad that this film doesn’t exalt David Frost as a national hero, but more as a fairly flawed man with excellent people backing him up. It’s still sad that he’s lost to the world, but his specialty was sensationalism and good TV, not hard journalism.
- Brilliantly paced, but that’s hardly a surprise. Ron Howard is a genius to the point that I actually want to see Rush when it comes out here. You know - the one about people driving around in a circle.
