Well hello there

I’m Chris. Let’s get that part out of the way first. Yep, that’s right, the Chris-whose-username-on-Tumblr-is-also-his-name. That blog’s still there. I doubt it’s going anywhere, either.

Having said that, I need a little shift. Things were getting noisy around there. It’s always been a source of mild discomfort that there were people I knew who were openly taking the piss out of me because of the stuff I wrote over there, but it was actually the appearance of my family that made things a little more difficult.

There’s also the fact that - for better or worse - that blog is popular. I have a clogged dashboard, full of reblogs and likes and nonsense from people I honestly don’t care about (or robots. Lots of robots). It’d be nice to have a fairly clutter-free environment.

So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to limit that old blog down to the posts that I don’t mind anyone seeing - family, co-workers, and so on (I’ll be leaving the archive mostly intact - I’m lazy). I won’t be deleting anything, but I’ll be making some posts private. And I’ll probably repost (not reblog) some of the better (but more daring/controversial/racy) posts over here, timestamped to when I first posted them. As it is, it’s likely you’ll see the archives filling up over here long before I actually start posting.

But there it is. I’ll still use both - of course I will, I’m not giving up a username like that so lucratively - but there should be some semblance of privacy over here. If I was following you before, I’m following you here, and soon that’ll be it - I’m going to unfollow almost everyone on the other blog, so don’t be offended if my affection suddenly disappears.

Time to move on, I think.
