Played: Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons

While this was occasionally infuriating, this has to be the most innovative game I’ve played in a while. It demands a controller to be played; you control one brother with the left analog stick and trigger, and the other with the right. What comes out of it is sometimes confusing, but often it’s a tangible cooperative feeling.

The camera is sometimes a little wonky (as you might expect a game with two protagonists to be), but it doesn’t really get in the way of what ends up being a powerfully heartfelt and surprisingly dark story. There’s one moment in particular that has to be played to be believed, and even made me, cold-hearted shit that I am, tear up a little.
