I just finished watching Joe, David Gordon Green’s latest; Tye Sheridan co-stars with Nicolas Cage, and both are on fine form here. It’s a shame that Cage gets saddled with hero roles all too often; it’s when he gets to explore real emotional darkness that he really excels.

If you can stomach the violence, this was an excellent film, and part of what I hope is a trend with Green; films like this are something special, and films like The Sitter and Your Highness really aren’t.

For some reason (probably because whenever I let him follow me he’d leave grotesque, profanity-filled drunken bullshit replies to posts that my parents were often looking at) I put my best friend on my ignore/block list about a year ago, and since then I’ve also blocked a bunch of porn spam blogs. This means every time I want to check up on him, given that he changes URLs a lot, I have to scroll past these two. I still stop and laugh. I wonder what Gilligan’s Bi-Land is like.
